Everyone is a Project Manager
The theme for this year's PMI Central Mississippi Chapter Professional Development Day carries forward last year's "Everything is a Project" theme.
A 'project' is any multi-step activity which includes:
Individuals who lead or manage things, yet are never called Project Managers, know there needs to be a way of thinking and a structure that makes it easier for individuals to advance decisions and thus increase the likelihood for success in accomplishing any endeavor. Successful individuals don't have to be very organized, but they do need to be able to lead others and meet commitments.
Individuals immersed in a project culture realize that things in both life and work have a goal, includes constraints, needs a design, follows a schedule, has dependencies, and requires relationships. For professionals, it is difficult to be good at managing, leading, teaching, creating, making or building just about anything without skills in project management.
