Hello hot and humid Mississippi Gulf Coast! On Tuesday August 21st our Chapter’s Annual Membership Meeting will be held in the Teamwork Room on the 7th floor of the Hancock Whitney building in Gulfport. We will have posters placed by the elevator entrances to guide you to the meeting room. We’ll kick the meeting off with networking and pizza starting at 5:30pm, followed by a brief “state-of-the-chapter” update and giveaways!
Remember, this is a FREE meeting, but please register by Monday August 20th so we have an accurate headcount for the food. Don’t forget we’ll be voting for the 2019 Board of Directors. Only one ballot per member will be accepted. You must be a current chapter member and present at the meeting to vote. REGISTER TODAY!
Announcing the 2019 Board of Director Nominees
We are thrilled to announce the following nominees for your 2019 Board of Directors! You’ll have a chance to meet each nominee at the August Annual Membership Meeting, so come share your ideas with them for making our Chapter even better, and then submit your vote. The new 2019 Board members will be announced in the September newsletter and introduced at the September Chapter meeting. Here are your 2019 Board nominees:
Nominee for Chapter Secretary: Courtney Hall, PMP (2018 Chapter Secretary)
I would like to again be the Secretary of PMI Mississippi Gulf Coast Chapter to continue building my understanding of the PMI Organization, along with the local PMI Mississippi Gulf Coast Chapter. I will utilize my Project Management experience to keep everyone informed and up-to-date with the Chapter status, events, etc. As Secretary, I will also work closely with fellow Board members and the Chapter members to continue building our Chapter.
Nominee for Vice President of Marketing Nominee: Delia Zamarripa (2018 Vice President of Marketing)
As the Vice President of Marketing, I would like to continue building on the solid foundation and initiatives we have established to-date. We made some changes last year that are proving positive—I’d like to help continue that success this year, and build even more momentum! I will also utilize my knowledge of our Chapter, of the industrial base within our region and my business skills to increase Chapter membership and secure Sponsorships for our Chapter.
Nominee for Vice President of Professional Development: Brenda Phillips, PMP
I have been in the Navy for 28 years. Throughout that time, I have motivated teams, achieved project success, and enhanced individual’s personal development. Because of these successes, I believe I will be able to inspire and encourage, offer direction, and emphasize the value of achieving success at a personal, team, and chapter levels through positive leadership. I would be happy to serve the PMI Mississippi Gulf Coast chapter members!
Nominee for Vice President of Governance and Policy: Wendy Wagner, PMP
I am a Solution Architect on the Technology Consulting team of FIS’ IBS Consulting group, with 30+ years of experience. I couple my broad banking knowledge and strong background in FIS products with an aptitude for engaging Product Managers and, as a result, I work successfully across an organization’s various product delivery group(s). I hope to leverage my strong background in running projects with an emphasis on creating repeatable processes to help ensure the PMI Mississippi Gulf Coast chapter be operationally efficient and compliant with applicable rules and regulations. I have a passion for this work and would love to be a part of the chapter’s leadership!
All 2019 Board members will take their position on January 1, 2019, but they will begin shadowing the incumbent this fall and they’ll attend an annual planning session usually held in early December.
